I AM GOING TO MAKE IT

A Journey from Rage to Redemption

From a corner of a yard in Kingston, Jamaica, a boy who was told he was ugly, worthless, and destined to fail heard a quiet voice that said, "I am going to make it." In this raw and deeply personal memoir, Pastor Michael A. Anderson tells the story of his journey from childhood rejection to arriving in Canada at fourteen with one shirt and one pair of pants, from the wrong crowd to the crossroads, and from rage to redemption. Woven through each chapter are the principles of Taekwondo that gave his fire a direction, and the faith that changed his life. Honest, hopeful, and written for anyone who has ever been counted out, this book is proof that your beginning does not decide your ending. If the form has a tight character limit, here's a one-line version: A raw, faith-filled memoir of one man's journey from a hard childhood in Jamaica to purpose in Canada, and a reminder that no one is beyond redemption.

Author

Michael A. Anderson is a pastor, author, mentor, 3rd Degree Taewondo Black Belt and the founder of Save Life Outreach Initiatives, serving communities across Toronto and Jamaica. Born in Franklyn Town, Kingston, and shaped by poverty, violence, and the hard early years of a new country, he writes from lived experience rather than theory. Anderson draws on decades in ministry, martial arts, and youth mentorship to speak about perseverance, faith, transformation, and the discipline that turns survival into purpose — believing success is measured not by what a person achieves alone, but by who they lift on the way up. I Am Going To Make It is his first book.
