Pattern Logic

Cognitive Test Practice Book for Grade 6 to 8

Pattern Logic is for readers roughly eleven to fourteen who can already find a pattern and now need to prove they have found the right one. Its discipline is to state the rule before answering. The book holds more than 675 original items across seven strands: foundations, number sequences and figurate numbers, grids including magic and Latin squares, coordinate transformations, three-by-three figural matrices, substitution ciphers and symbol codes, and a diagnostic chapter. Every item has four or five choices and exactly one defensible answer, and every answer is published with the rule behind it. The assessment chapter does something a practice book usually does not: its modules are scored so that a result names the chapter to re-read, rather than producing a number with no instruction attached. A second part adds six timed papers at three bands, matched in difficulty and sharing no items, so a reader can sit one, work on what the diagnosis points at, and sit the other. Items like these appear on school selection and gifted-programme tests, and working through the book makes those formats familiar rather than strange. No claim is made that the practice raises general cognitive ability; what it offers is fluency, a vocabulary of rules, and honest feedback. Teacher notes at the back set out the prerequisites each chapter assumes, the common wrong turns and what they diagnose, and how to spread the six papers across a term.

Mindverse Computing LLC is a Washington-based technology company developing an agentic digital twin of the mind, trained on non-invasive brain–computer interface data. Its founding premise is that a personal model of how an individual attends, learns, and rests can make instruction genuinely adaptive in ways generic material cannot, and that the same model applies to meditation practice and mental-health support. This series comes out of the company’s Superlearning research programme, which develops courses and learning materials designed to accelerate learning when paired with AI assistance and a learner’s own BCI data. The books stand on their own: nothing in them requires a device, an account or a subscription. They are the printed half of that work

Dibakar Sigdel led and edited this series. He is a physicist and data scientist whose work centres on brain–computer interfaces and on bringing high-performance and quantum computing to bear on them. At Mindverse Computing LLC, he leads research and development in classical–quantum algorithms and in the Superlearning methodology from which this series grew.
