There is no scholarly appointment behind this book, no ordination, no years in a monastery. Claiming one would be the easiest thing in the world to write, and the one thing this edition cannot afford: everything it asks of you rests on your being able to check it. So instead of who made it, here is what was done. Müller's English of 1881 was read against the Pali, line by line. Where it still says the thing, it stands.
